Pedl E-Bike E-Scooter Warranty Policy

Warranty Coverage
All Pedl electric bikes and scooters come with a 12-month warranty covering electronic and mechanical components, including:

  • Battery
  • Motor
  • Controller
  • Display
  • Suspension
  • Wheels

Battery Maintenance Requirement
To maintain warranty coverage for your battery:

  • Batteries must becharged to 100%, used, and recharged to 100% at least once per month.
  • Failure to charge the battery regularly may result inirreversible damagedue to dormancy.
  • Improper or insufficient care of the battery will be classified under Usage Exclusions and will not be covered by the warranty.

Warranty Conditions
Required Maintenance Tune-Ups

To ensure the longevity and performance of your Pedl e-bike or e-scooter, the following conditions must be met:

  1. General Maintenance Check
    • A qualified or recognized technician/mechanic must conduct a general maintenance check within the first 6 months or 500km of ownership (whichever comes first).
    • Failure to provide a valid service record will void any future warranty claims.
  2. Free First Tune-Up
    • Every new bike purchased through the Pedl store includes a complimentary first tune-up.
    • This check-up must be conducted within 100km or the first 6 weeks of ownership.
    • The tune-up includes tightening screws, adjusting components, and addressing any minor issues.
    • Wear-and-tear parts are not replaced as part of this service.
    • Customers unable to bring their bike to a Pedl store should visit a qualified mechanic, but Pedl will not cover external costs.

Warranty Transfer Restrictions

  • The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.
  • Warranty claims cannot be transferred from one owner to another and then back to the original owner.

Wear Tear Policy

  • While manufacturer defects may be covered, normal wear-and-tear parts are excluded from the warranty.
  • In certain cases, Pedl may replace wear-and-tear parts within the first 3 months at its discretion.
  • Normal wear-and-tear items include:
    • Tyres, inner tubes, valves
    • Brake pads, brake cables, gear cables
    • Oils, lubricants, chains
    • Suspension forks, rear shocks, bearings (headset, bottom bracket, wheel, and frame linkages)
    • Spokes (front and rear), derailleur hanger
    • Paint surface finish (including fading, discoloration, corrosion, or rust)

Inspection Reporting Requirements

  • All products undergo an outgoing goods inspection before delivery.
  • Customers should inspect their delivered goods upon receipt and report any damages immediately.
  • If external packaging damage is visible upon delivery, customers should:
    • Obtain a written confirmation of damage from the carrier upon delivery.
    • Notify Pedl immediately and, where possible, retain damaged packaging as evidence.

Water Damage Exclusion

  • Water damage is not covered under warranty.

Unauthorized Repairs Modifications

  • Any unauthorized repairs, alterations, or modifications will immediately void the warranty.
  • Any repair work performed before or after a warranty claim by an unqualified repairer will also void the warranty.

Fault Reporting Usage Conditions

  • If an initial fault occurs, customers must report it immediately.
  • Continued usage without assessment that results in further damage(e.g., a small issue escalating into an accident) will not be covered.
  • Only the initial fault qualifies for a warranty service.

Exclusions
General Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover damage resulting from:

  • Acts of God, force majeure events, accidents, or commercial use
  • Improper use, insufficient care, neglect, or abuse
  • Unauthorized modifications, repairs, or use of non-approved tools and parts
  • Competitive use, stunt riding, exceeding the weight limit, or misuse
  • Rental, hiring, or other commercial activities (unless covered under a specific contract)

Warranty Claim Process

  1. Filing a Claim
    • Submit a warranty claim using the form at:Warranty Claim
    • Provide all necessary information to facilitate assessment.
  2. Service Center Repair Process
    • Pedl has preferred service centers in every state for most products.
    • Once a claim is lodged, Pedl will advise the customer on the nearest authorized repair center.
  3. Reimbursement Repair Costs
    • If a repair incurs a cost, the customer must first settle the invoice and submit it to Pedl for reimbursement.
    • If no authorized repairer is available locally, Pedl will issue a postage label to ship the product for assessment.
    • If the issue is deemed warranty-related, the repair and return shipping will be covered by Pedl.
    • If the issue is not covered under warranty, all associated costs (including labor and transport) will be borne by the customer.

Consumer Law Duty of Care
Pedl adheres to Australian Consumer Law, ensuring goods meet the following standards:

  • Fit for all intended purposes
  • Acceptable appearance and finish
  • Free from defects
  • Safe and durable

If repairs are required beyond warranty obligations to maintain these standards, the cost will be the owner’s responsibility. Warranty Start Date Policy

  • Warranty coverage begins on the date of purchase.
  • If shipping delays exceed 10 days, Pedl will extend the warranty start date by up to 2 weeks.
